Why does the word "God" and "Lord" is used in the Bible? (Part Two)

Before Bible New Living Translation Bible-Indonesia Institute published in 1974, there have been several Bible in Malay which is the embryo of the Indonesian language. Translation of Matthew A. C. Ruly (1629) is the first effort in translating the Bible in Indonesian. The use of the word "God" then questioned by some Christians in recent years, which although has been used for hundreds of years in Bible translations that have been circulated in the territory of the Republic of Indonesia.
What is certain is that, when continued use of the word "GOD", the Indonesian Bible Society has considered the weight of history as well as various cross-cultural translation process that has been seen in the Bible itself.
Indonesian Bible Institute Policy regarding equivalent to the divine names are not taken by simplistic. There are some things that have been carefully considered, among other things:
1. Text source (Hebrew and Aramaic for the Old Testament, the Greek New Testament) and commentary.
2. The tradition of the people of God in the Old Testament and New Testament.
3. The history of the use of divine names in translating the Bible into various languages and cultures over time.
4. The policy followed by the teams of Bible translation around the world, particularly those joining the United Bible institutions of the World (United Bible Societies).
5. Agreement taken together with the churches, both Catholic and Protestant, who use the Bible published by Bible Society in Indonesia until now. By the completion of Bible-New Living Translation Bible Society of Indonesia, for example in 1968 was held in Cipayung consultation with leaders and representatives from churches of various denominations. In this consultation, among others, agreed that the word "GOD" still be used as in previous translations.
Indonesian Bible Society has never pretend as if the translation is perfect and does not need to be repaired again. However, given the long process and days taken to publish the Bible, the demands of several groups who wish to remove or restore a particular name, can’t be obeyed just like that. In all decision-making process concerning the translation of the Bible, various factors must be considered carefully regarding the source texts, interpretation, translation tradition until the implications for fellowship and testimonies of God's people together, especially in the homeland of Indonesia.

I see no difference in the use of "God" and "Lord" and both are in the Christian bible. Our priests aren't concerned either in using these in their sermons as they are in the bible. Thanks for bringing this up here. People in your country need to know.
